Covid-19 attacks the respiratory tract of patients. CT scans of multiple patients indicates a significant infected area, primarily on the posterior side. Our endeavor has been to segment the CT images and create a 3D model output of these patients to better understand the impact of this disease on lungs. Any Machine Learning solution requires accurate ground truth dataset for higher accuracy. In this context, we propose to build a database of segmented CT scan images using MySegmenter. We will manually segment each region and provide the entire 2D DICOM files and 3D files to the global research community for planning and deploying clinical solutions.
We believe that these efforts would help better understand how COVID-19 acts on the entire lung anatomy at different stages and enable deployment of specific clinical solutions.
